OK I was just trying to be polite.

I have been in modelling years and years. mostly RC Boats but also a off road fan owning a Landrover's 1:1 and trialing them, so when I accidently came across a RC Crawler I had to get one.

First I got a SCX Dingo straight away modifications had to be done. (Aug 2010)

I was going to get a Landrover Defender hardbody but money got tight so decided to build a Landrover 101 forward control body from scratch.

I want to start to build Scale Crawler Trucks and having seen the Videos of Polish Trucks and events I was very impressed by the quality of the models and the performance across the terrain.

It will be very interesting to get tips and suppliers from a European perspective.

Yes the 101 is just a scratch built body on the SCX chassis. Its scale is 8.85th

for a later project I would like to make another but 10th scale, with leaf springs.

Nice Defender :OK
Looks pretty good.

I'm thinking about batteries- why do you have 2 NiMh batteries? It must be very heavy!!!

And this 101 is awesome- good job ;)

I have two batteries just for a longer run time and I had two.
Weight does not seem to be an issue Yet! and as a scale project I dont expect to go over extreem ground.
I am still experimenting this is my first crawler and I only got it last August.

Heavier runs much scaler because the suspension works better.

But if you want longer run times, buy brushless and Li-Fe batteries :D

Welcome to the forum. I really like that kind of body. It looks similar to Volvo, I don`t remember the type now.

Two batteries weight some for sure, so if you would try to remove one it might add some terrain abilities. Heavier modell moves much more realistic however in some situations it can stuck in the obstacle.

Personally I prefer hevier models. More realistic ride is that what I like.

BTW great modell and nice to see you on our forum ;)

ps. I moved your topic to English Forum/Garage...

The Diagram does look like it a FC Landrover.
This one was my inspiration.

My idea for next model! A Foden recovery vehicle (I used to make the real ones)

I plan to make a 6x6 chassis from 2 Axial scx 10's learn about the running speeds then rebuild to scale, with leaf springs, bogie axle, correct gearing, motor and esc. (this is where I need help from you all)

My other models mostly boats - http://www.flickr.com/photos/23352959@N08/
